What We Believe

We are God-centered

We believe that the One eternal, self-existent, and sovereign God who has revealed Himself in creation and in the Christian Bible exists and is knowable (Gen 1.1; Heb 1.1).

We believe He eternally exists as spirit (Jn 4.24) and trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Mt 28.19).

We believe that He does everything for His own glory and it is our duty, as His creation, to glorify Him in everything we do, think, and say (our church service, both corporate and individual, revolves around God’s glory, not the acceptance of men and women; Is 48.9-11; 1 Cor 10.31).

We believe He created and sustains everything that exists, including man and woman (Gen 1.1; Jn 1.1-3; Col 1.15-19).

We believe that man and woman, although the epitome of God’s creation, sinned (violated God’s command; 1 Jn 3.4). Since Adam’s first sin, every man and woman sins and, therefore, exists in a state of depravity and spiritual deadness without hope of salvation in and of themselves (Rom 3.23; Eph 2.1-3).

We believe that the just penalty of sin is God’s wrath (ultimately evident in eternal punishment; Jn 3.36; Rom 6.23; 1 Cor 15.22).

We believe that God takes the initiative, under no obligation to anyone, in the salvation of man for His own glory (Rom 5.8; Eph 1.6-8).

We are Christ-centered

We believe that the eternal Son of God, being God Himself, became man by being born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died in the place of sinners (Gal 4.4; Jn 1.1; Jn 20.28). Three days after His death on the cross, He arose bodily from the grave (1 Cor 15.1-4).

We believe that Christ’s death is sufficient to restore any person to God if they personally repent of their sins and place their trust on Christ’s payment on the cross (Rom 3.23-26; 1 Pet 3.18; 1 Cor 5.21).

We believe in the future personal and bodily return of Christ to judge the bodily resurrected righteous and unrighteous (Rev 19.11-12; 1 Pet 4.5).

We are Word-centered

We believe that the Bible, being the place where God reveals Himself most clearly, is directly from God (God’s word; 2 Tim 3.16; 2 Pet 1.21). The Bible, in its original manuscripts, is true and does not contain error (Jn 17.17).

We believe that the written Word of God is what the Spirit of God uses to change men and women both at and after the moment of salvation (our church service and private lives revolve around God’s written Word and its accurate preaching; 1 Pet 1.22-25).

We are Gospel-centered

We believe that God established His church as a community of individuals to demonstrate and teach the truth of the Gospel (the truth of Christ’s death for sinners, burial, and resurrection according to the Scriptures) to each other and to the world through word and deed (Ac 2.42-47).
